Ganang mendapat informasi itu dari mantan Gubernur DKI Jakarta, Tjokropranolo, yang juga pengawal pribadi Jenderal Soedirman pada masa revolusi nasional Indonesia.
"Keluarga pahlawan ini gak pernah minta sesuatu dan tidak pernah menyatakan bahwa negeri ini harus memberikan sesuatu pada kami gak apa-apa, karena buat saya nuwun sewu, Soedirman yang kita nyatakan selama ini sebagai pahlawan gitu ya, beliau ketika 9 Juli 1949 menolak disebut pahlawan," kata Ganang saat wawancara eksklusif dengan Direktur Pemberitaan Tribun Network Febby Mahendra Putra di kantor Tribunnews.com, Jakarta, Jumat (15/8/2025).
