Kepala Penerangan Korem 133/Nani Wartabone, Kapten Inf Suyono memberikan respons terkait penyerangan itu.
Dari narasi yang beredar, insiden itu terjadi karena masalah asmara.
Akan tetapi, kabar itu langsung dibantah oleh Kapten Inf Suyono.
Suyono menuturkan motif adanya pengeroyokan tersebut lantaran adanya salah paham antara pelaku pengeroyokan dengan korban.
"Ini hanya salah paham, tidak ada motif asmara,” katanya pada Kamis (5/6/2025).
Menurutnya, ada dua anggota Brimob yang tidak diterima dengan perkataan anggota TNI.
Kala itu, korban meminta pelaku memindahkan motor yang menghalangi jalan di kawasan perumahan Polres Gorontalo.
Pasalnya, anggota TNI yang menumpang becak motor (bentor) tersebut ingin masuk ke perumahan tersebut.
Oknum Brimob tak terima dengan permintaan korban hingga terjadi cekcok.
Pengeroyokan ini tak hanya dilakukan anggota Brimob melainkan juga tujuh warga.
Akibat pengeroyokan tersebut, korban mengalami lebam di mata sebelah kiri.
Insiden ini pun sempat membuat anggota TNI lainnya tidak terima dan melapor ke Polres Gorontalo.
"Semalam anggota TNI karena tidak terima dilaporkan lah ke Polres Gorontalo, buat laporan karena pemukulan itu," ujarnya.
Namun, antara pelaku dan korban telah dipertemukan dan menjalani mediasi.
