Der Berliner Lehrer Herr Reff trifft seine Schüler auch dort, wo sie heute die meiste Zeit verbringen: im Smartphone. An einer Berliner Brennpunktschule unterrichtet der Sekundarschullehrer Ethik, Politik und Geografie – und gibt daneben unter dem Namen „Herr Reff“ auf Instagram mehr als 300.000 Followern Einblicke in den herausfordernden Schulalltag. Dabei fällt er auf: Mit breitem Kreuz und durchtrainierten Oberarmen wirkt der 42-Jährige eher wie ein Türsteher – und seine nahbare Präsenz macht ihn für seine Schülerinnen und Schüler authentisch. Er spricht ihre Sprache, kennt ihre Sorgen und begegnet den Jugendlichen mit ihren ganz unterschiedlichen Geschichten, Problemen und Startbedingungen auf Augenhöhe.
