El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de China ha expresado su profunda preocupación por las recientes acciones militares de Japón cerca de la región china de Taiwan e instado a Tokio a aprender de la historia."Dada la historia militarista de Japón, sus movimientos armados han sido objeto de importante atención por parte de sus vecinos asiáticos y de la comunidad internacional. Japón no cesa en impulsar despliegues militares cerca de la región china de Taiwan, e incluso ha anunciado planes para desplegar misiles de alcance intermedio. Y ahora va aún más lejos, tratando de desplegar sistemas de radar y tropas para llevar a cabo tareas de vigilancia hacia sus vecinos.
