À beira do Rio Araçuaí, em lugar muito acidentado, morou o Senhor Gabrielzinho da Lapa. Homem de muita fé e generoso, como contam os moradores mais idosos do local. Gabrielzinho dedicou sua vida às orações, intercedendo a Deus pelas pessoas, e com isso atraia àquele local grande quantidade de peregrinos que ali fortaleciam sua fé. Gabrielzinho faleceu em 1993, mas mesmo após sua morte o local continua a ser visitado por romeiros, em especial no terceiro domingo do mês de agosto, quando acontece a celebração da festa do Bom Jesus.Agradeço ao Vailton que está sempre disponível para me guiar pela região de Turmalina. Ele trabalha como guia e pode apresentar o que tem de bom em Turmalina e região.
