No More Imports: What the C-295’s Maiden Flight Means for India | Vantage on Firstpost | N18G | 4K

The first aircraft of the Made-in-India Airbus C-295 took to the skies in the city of Vadodara in Gujarat, setting new records. This is the first time in India's aviation history that an aircraft made from scratch by a private firm was manufactured in the country. Airbus has partnered with Tata to manufacture these planes. The Indian Air Force signed a contract for 56 C-295 aircraft back in 2021. According to the deal, the first 16 planes will be made in Spain and will be handed over to India in fly-away condition. The remaining 40 will be made in India by Tata Advanced Systems Limited. Meanwhile, India has also lined up several other projects including the Tejas, Tejas Mk 1-A, Tejas Mk 2, AMCA and the MTA. Find out more on about India's aviation progress from Hem Kaur Saroya on Vantage on Firstpost.
