ISTANBUL: Urlaub für Familie endet tödlich, jetzt beginnt der Prozess vor GerichtIstanbul, Türkei – Es sollte eine unbeschwerte Reise werden – doch für eine Familie aus Hamburg endete der Urlaub tödlich. Fünf Monate nach dem dramatischen Vierfach-Tod beginnt heute Vormittag in Istanbul der Prozess gegen sechs Angeklagte.
Servet (38), seine Frau Çiğdem (27) und ihre beiden Kinder Masal (3) und Kadir (6) waren im November vergangenen Jahres in die türkische Metropole gereist.
Im Fokus steht eine Schädlingsbekämpfung mit Aluminiumphosphid – einer Chemikalie, die laut Anklage gar nicht zur Bekämpfung von Bettwanzen geeignet ist. Zudem soll die verantwortliche Firma ohne notwendige Genehmigungen gearbeitet und Sicherheitsvorschriften missachtet haben. Experten gehen davon aus, dass das tödliche Gas vermutlich über einen Lüftungsschacht ins Zimmer der Familie gelangte.
Vor Gericht müssen sich nun der Hotelbesitzer, ein Rezeptionist sowie der Inhaber der Schädlingsbekämpfungsfirma, dessen Sohn und ein Mitarbeiter verantworten. Alle fünf sitzen in Untersuchungshaft. Ein weiterer Hotelangestellter ist ebenfalls angeklagt.
Die Staatsanwaltschaft wirft den fünf Angeklagten „bewusste fahrlässige Tötung“ vor. Ihnen drohen Haftstrafen von bis zu 22,5 Jahren. Einem weiteren Hotelmitarbeiter wird „fahrlässige Tötung“ vorgeworfen – hier stehen bis zu 15 Jahre im Raum. Alle Beschuldigten weisen die Vorwürfe bislang zurück.
