Cuba aprueba identidad digital con datos biométricos obligatorios

Cuba aprobó una Ley del Sistema de Identidad que establece un identificador permanente y una identidad digital para ciudadanos cubanos dentro y fuera de la isla, además de extranjeros residentes. La norma entrará en vigor en tres meses y contempla información biométrica vinculada a la identidad física.

El influencer y activista cubano Alex Otaola cuestiona el alcance del registro y advierte sobre la recopilación de huellas, rostro, voz e iris. También expresa preocupación por el posible uso comercial o político de esa base de datos; esa interpretación corresponde a su comentario editorial y no a una conclusión demostrada en el video.

La explicación oficial, atribuida al coronel Mario Méndez Mayedo del Ministerio del Interior, presenta la identidad digital como un mecanismo para autenticar personas y realizar trámites electrónicos.
