Why Are Indians So Casteist?

Most people think casteism is a village problem that education and city life will fix. But in 2025, a Dalit groom in Ajmer needed 200 policemen to ride a mare to his own wedding, and in cities the same mindset has only changed its language.

Even today, 95% of marriages happen within the same caste. Professionals set caste filters on matrimonial sites, a guest from another caste gets a separate plate, and parents who reject a partner say the backgrounds don't match. In this video, we break down the casteism nobody calls casteism.

At the same time, the problem is deeper than prejudice. Caste pride offers a ready-made sense of superiority, the biradari offers jobs, loans and support, and the fear of social boycott keeps even willing parents quiet. Revenge rhetoric that treats women as trophies is no answer either.

This is not about a few backward villages. It is about what we teach children at home and call family values. If everyone says they are not casteist, the real question is who keeps it alive.
