Así ROBÓ la Italia fascista su primer mundial...
El Mundial de Italia 1934 es uno de los capítulos más oscuros del fútbol, orquestado por Benito Mussolini no como un evento deportivo, sino como una brutal herramienta de propaganda fascista para exaltar al régimen. Mussolini, aunque inicialmente despreciaba el fútbol, comprendió su inmenso poder de masas. Para asegurar la victoria, el Estado italiano recurrió al robo sistemático de talento, nacionalizando bajo amenazas y sobornos a estrellas sudamericanas como Luis Monti. Durante el torneo, el terror psicológico dominó los estadios, repletos de milicias fascistas y saludos romanos obligatorios. La corrupción arbitral fue descarada, destacando la violenta Batalla de Florencia contra España y las presiones a colegiados que cenaban con el mismísimo dictador antes de partidos clave. Bajo amenazas de muerte si perdían, los jugadores italianos ganaron el campeonato. Así, Italia levantó su primera Copa del Mundo manchada de sangre, extorsión, violencia desmedida y el control absoluto de una dictadura sanguinaria.Por Javier Rubio Donzé
