Jobs report: Just 50K jobs added last month, unemployment rate falls
The US economy added just 50,000 jobs in December, according to the latest monthly report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate ticked down to 4.4% from a revised 4.5%. The latest data means 2025 saw the weakest annual job growth since 2003, with just 584,000 jobs added last year. Stocks opened higher Friday as investors digested the latest data on the US labor market.CNN's Matt Egan reports, and John Berman speaks with Rep.
