Russia's Cruise Missiles Using US-Made NVIDIA AI Chips? | Vantage on Firstpost | 4K
China has launched a dedicated China-Europe shipping route via the Arctic Circle. Sea Legend Chinese ship has sent one commercial ship to Europe via this route. This comes after Russia's Rosatom issued 7 approvals for Chinese ships. The move will see the usage of the Northern Shipping Route that will take 18 days of travel from China to the UK. The usual route via the Suez Canal takes upto 40 days for the ships. However, China still has to rely on Russian shipping approvals and the availability of Rosatom's ice breakers that are supposed to accompany each commercial ship using the arctic route. With only a handful of ships allowed to pass through the shipping lanes, it would take years for China to replace the trade it conducts through the Suez Canal. Meanwhile, India, Japan and South Korea have also requested Russia for access to the Arctic shipping routes.Russia has increased the use of newer long-range subsonic cruise missiles, like the S-71. As per Ukraine, Russia fired the S-71 Monochrome missile. The wreckage included Nivida AI Chips along with Chinese optical systems. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence released images of the chips that appear to be Nvidia's Jetson Orin NX AI chips that are mass produced and are meant for robotics or for automating machines. As per Ukraine, the Nvidia AI chip in the missile was mated to the camera and that allowed the missile to make independent decisions before carrying out its strike. Meanwhile, Nvidia has clarified that its AI chips are not sold in Russia and are not made for military use. Several reports say that Russia has also used the Nvidia chips in other weapons, particularly kamikaze drones. Ukraine claims, Russia is increasingly relying on foreign-made components for its weapons, with some parts being made in the US, Japan and Switzerland.
