Julieta Venegas interpreta “La línea” y habla de su nuevo disco y libro de memorias “Norteña”

Estuvimos hablando con Julieta Venegas, aclamada cantante, compositora, productora y multinstrumentista mexicana ganadora del Grammy, que ha sido una figura destacada en el rock y el pop latino durante décadas, a menudo trascendiendo géneros, y admirada en todo el mundo. También fue embajadora de buena voluntad de UNICEF en México y ha defendido abiertamente la igualdad de género. Ha publicado nueve álbumes, el primero de ellos, “Aquí”, en 1997.

Julieta nació en Long Beach, California, pero creció en la ciudad fronteriza mexicana de Tijuana. Su último sencillo, que grabó con Yahritza y Su Esencia, se titula “La línea”, un término coloquial que se refiere al cruce fronterizo entre San Ysidro y Tijuana. La canción hace parte de su nuevo álbum “Norteña”, en el que explora sus raíces en la frontera, donde creció. El lanzamiento del álbum está programado para el 14 de mayo.

Su nuevo libro de memorias también se titula “Norteña”. A principios de este mes, recibió el premio Excelencia Artística en la gala de los Billboard Mujeres Latinas en la Música 2026, en Miami, el cual dedicó a “todas las personas que en este momento se encuentran separadas de sus seres queridos, ya sea por detenciones o deportaciones o quizás por perseguir un sueño que las aleja de sus familias”.

Julieta Venegas interpretó “La línea”, “Oleada” y “Me voy” en nuestro estudio de Democracy Now! y habló de cómo fue crecer en la frontera entre México y Estados Unidos, además de otros temas.
