«Prima di tutto in questa fase critica viene il controllo e la repressione di questi fenomeni», afferma Giuseppe Sala al termine della riunione in Prefettura sulla sicurezza a Milano. Il sindaco si dice favorevole all'arrivo dei 500 militari: «Non sono per niente contrario», spiegando però che, superata la fase dell'emergenza, sarà necessario «capire come porre mano a un problema generazionale che è molto evidente». Sala sottolinea che «solo il 20% erano ragazzi milanesi», richiama la politica a intervenire sull'«uso distorto dei social» e indica nella scuola uno dei punti da cui ripartire: «La sola repressione non può bastare». Il sindaco invita inoltre a evitare una psicosi del «chiudiamo tutto», che giudica rischiosa per Milano, e non esclude possibili tentativi di infiltrazione nei mondi giovanili coinvolti nelle mobilitazioni.
