The people of Uttar Pradesh have been hit by a double shock regarding electricity. Residents across several districts of the state are distressed by power cuts. Amidst the scorching heat, frequent outages are preventing them from sleeping through the night. To make matters worse, the people of UP will now have to pay 10 percent more on their electricity bills. This is because the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has imposed a 10 percent fuel surcharge on electricity, resulting in a 10 percent hike in your bill amount. This increased electricity charge will be reflected in the bill issued for the month of June.
