KOMPAS.TV - Harga cabai merah di Pasar Batusangkar melambung tinggi. Kurangnya pasokan cabai lokal membuat harga cabai merah yang biasanya dijual Rp25.000-Rp30.000 per kilogram naik menjadi Rp72.000-Rp75.000 per kilogram.Melambungnya harga cabai merah terjadi di Pasar Serikat C, Batusangkar, Kabupaten Tanah Datar, Provinsi Sumatera Barat.
Kenaikan harga ini telah berlangsung sejak beberapa pekan terakhir.
Harga cabai merah asal Kerinci di Pasar Serikat C Batusangkar mencapai Rp72.000 per kilogram.
Sedangkan cabai asal Pulau Jawa dijual seharga Rp68.000 per kilogram.
Kenaikan harga ini mencapai lebih dari 100 persen karena biasanya cabai merah dijual Rp25.000Rp30.000 per kilogram.
Kondisi ini terjadi akibat kelangkaan pasokan cabai lokal.
Menurut para pedagang, musim kemarau membuat petani di Sumatera Barat enggan menanam cabai karena takut merugi.
Alhasil, cabai yang dijual pedagang saat ini lebih dominan didatangkan dari wilayah Kerinci dan Pulau Jawa.
Pedagang belum mengetahui secara pasti kapan harga cabai akan kembali normal.
Biasanya harga cabai sangat fluktuatif dan tergantung pasokan dari pemasok.
