Dalam aksinya, sejumlah narapidana tersebut turut menggunakan senjata tajam dan juga kayu.
Detik-detik peristiwa ini terekam kamera CCTV yang kemudian beredar di media sosial.
Mulanya terlihat seorang napi memasuki lorong kantor dan langsung melakukan penyerangan menggunakan parang terhadap petugas lapas yang berjaga di pintu.
Aksi dari napi tersebut pun membuat petugas kalang kabut dan berusaha menyelamatkan diri.
Alhasil seorang petugas mengalami luka di bagian tangan.
Tak berselang lama, puluhan napi lainnya berlari ke arah pintu keluar sembari membawa kayu.
Petugas pun tak bisa berbuat banyak karena kalah jumlah.
Seusai puluhan napi tersebut kabur, petugas langsung menutup pintu lapas.
Pasca-kaburnya puluhan narapidana, puluhan personel kepolisian diterjunkan ke Lapas Kelas IIB Nabire untuk pengamanan.
Belum diketahui secara pasti penyebab larinya puluhan narapidana tersebut.
