Campesinos tabacaleros denuncian pagos miserables en Cuba

Campesinos cubanos dedicados al cultivo del tabaco han alzado su voz contra los pagos miserables que reciben por sus cosechas. Lejos de ser un orgullo nacional, la producción tabacalera en Cuba se ha convertido en una muestra más de cómo la dictadura explota a su propio pueblo.

En su programa Hola! Ota-Ola, Alex Otaola recordó el lujo del Festival del Habano, un evento que el régimen utiliza para exhibir sus productos al mundo, mientras los verdaderos protagonistas —los campesinos— permanecen mal alimentados, molestos y empobrecidos. Son ellos quienes aportan la hoja de tabaco que sostiene una industria millonaria, pero que apenas les deja lo suficiente para sobrevivir.

Otaola denunció que los campesinos tabacaleros viven en condiciones de esclavitud moderna, aplastados por un sistema que se beneficia de su esfuerzo sin retribuirlo justamente. “Ellos trabajan como esclavos para sostener a la dictadura”, subrayó.
