La sua guida era stata messa fortemente in discussione nei mesi scorsi, soprattutto in ragione del fatto che il suo partito aveva registrato un crollo verticale nei consensi, a tal punto da indurre molti tra dirigenti e militanti ad auspicare un rinnovamento ai vertici, a partire dalla stessa figura di Matteo Salvini. Sembrava dunque che si desse l’opportunità di un mutamento radicale nei quadri del partito e invece il Salvini è stato, forse un po’ a sorpresa, riconfermato nel suo ruolo.
Tra le sue prime dichiarazioni vi è quella, perfettamente condivisibile sia chiaro, secondo cui è d’uopo interrompere immediatamente l’invio di armi al guitto di Kiev, #Zelensky. Lo abbiamo ribadito in diverse occasioni. Matteo Salvini è un leader ruspante non solo perché letteralmente lo ricordiamo a bordo della ruspa, in una delle sue tante uscite demagogiche, ma anche in ragione del fatto che si muove in maniera rustica e scomposta, senza una linea politica precisa, quasi come se stesse navigando a vista, come si suol dire.
