Japan's Sanae Takaichi makes First Visit to India: Trade & China in Focus | Firstpost PoV Interview
Japan's Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, is on her first visit to India. She is in Delhi to attend the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit. Takaichi has also brought the CEOs of 50 Japanese companies, including Suzuki and Toyota, as part of a delegation for a India-Japan Business Forum meeting. Takaichi's meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to result in several MOUs in sectors like Artificial Intelligence, Pharmaceuticals and Critical Minerals. Security in the Indo-Pacific region is also expected to be high on the agenda. Both Japan and India have faced hostility from China, and the partnership between Tokyo and New Delhi is expected to help the nations secure global supply chains amid geopolitical instability in the rest of the world. How will India and Japan navigate the crises around the world? How will the partnership grow? And how does the US and the Trump administration factor into plans for the QUAD grouping?
