Pinar del Río: familia de una combatiente denuncia abandono
La familia de una mujer que participó en la lucha revolucionaria denuncia que hoy está postrada, enferma y sin atención del Estado en Pinar del Río.Importa porque el reclamo llega de quienes sirvieron al propio sistema y describen el mismo abandono que denuncian miles de ancianos en Cuba.
En el video, su hijo, escritor independiente, pregunta qué hace la Comisión de Atención al Combatiente en la provincia y sostiene que madres y familiares de dirigentes locales sí reciben privilegios y atenciones. Afirma que cuida a su madre con una asistencia social de 1.500 pesos, que la crisis energética le impide trabajar y que acepta ayuda de cualquier organización, incluida la Embajada de Estados Unidos. Cubanos por el Mundo no identifica a la anciana ni publica datos que permitan localizarla.
Alexander Otaola contrasta esas imágenes con las de otros cubanos sin colchón, sin sábanas y con enfermos esperando diálisis sobre camas de alambre, y sostiene que el abandono de la vejez en Cuba no distingue entre quienes apoyaron al gobierno y quienes lo enfrentaron. El programa recuerda que la Comisión de Atención al Combatiente es la estructura estatal encargada precisamente de atender a esas personas.
