Pour Max, l’ado de 16 ans qui s’est retrouvé parachuté là parmi des habitants accueillants, ce fut un paradis. Mais à ses fantasmes d’une Amérique idéale se superposent les croyances de ceux qui espèrent le changement, parfois au prix de la violence.
