Дэвид Линч, ныне классик «странного кино», начал снимать старые фабрики и заводы в 1980-х, уже после съемок «Человека-слона». Эти мрачные фотографии в темных тонах, сделанные в Англии, а позднее в Польше и США, превратились в фотокнигу и выставки в 2010-х годах. Эта фотосерия до сих пор остается несколько маргинальной среди работ Линча, а между тем эти снимки о запустении и энтропии соотносятся с несколькими важными тенденциями в искусстве 20 века и более ранних эпох. На лекции пойдет речь о контексте этих фотографий – страхе перед индустрией и прогрессом, постапокалиптическими настроениями, о любовании руинами и об экспрессионизме немецкого кино 1920-х годов.О проекте
