Proses pengambilan sampel dilakukan melalui swab mukosa mulut dari keluarga terdekat, seperti orang tua atau saudara kandung.
Upaya ini untuk memudahkan pencocokan identifikasi jenazah yang sulit dikenali akibat kondisi pasca-reruntuhan.
Sampel DNA dari keluarga akan digunakan sebagai pembanding dalam pemeriksaan laboratorium.
Kabar ini dikonfirmasi oleh Kepala Bidang Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Polda Jawa Timur, Kombes Pol Khusnan, Kamis (2/10).
Tim DVI Polda Jatim menegaskan bahwa metode ini menjadi standar dalam upaya identifikasi korban bencana.
Selain itu, pihak kepolisian juga membentuk WhatsApp Group khusus bagi keluarga korban.
Grup ini diharapkan dapat memperlancar komunikasi terkait perkembangan identifikasi.
Informasi mengenai prosedur, hasil sementara, dan kebutuhan data tambahan akan disampaikan melalui grup tersebut.
Upaya ini dilakukan untuk memberikan transparansi serta mempercepat alur koordinasi.
Dengan adanya langkah tersebut, diharapkan proses identifikasi korban dapat berjalan lebih cepat dan akurat.
Meski demikian, Polda Jatim memastikan bahwa pelayanan terhadap keluarga korban akan terus diutamakan.
