Marshel diusung Partai Gerindra pada Pemilihan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada) Serentak 2024.
Informasi itu disampaikan langsung Ketua Harian DPP Partai Gerindra, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad pada Rabu (19/6/2024).
"Saya tegaskan instruksi bahwa Calon Wakil Wali Kota Tangerang Selatan yaitu Marshel Widianto," ujar Dasco.
Sebelumnya, Ketua DPC Gerindra Li Claudia Chandra berujar Marshel kini sudah resmi menjadi kader dari partainya.
Menurut Claudia, pimpinan partai mempunyai alasan dalam memilih Marshel untuk maju pada kontestasi Pilkada Tangsel.
Selain itu, ia juga menjaga baik komunikasi dengan partai-partai lain yang ada di DPRD Kota Tangerang Selatan.
