PUTINS KRIEG: Nato stellt Pläne für Ukraine und Europa vor - klares Signal an Russland und ChinaNato-Staaten machen jetzt Tempo bei der Ausrüstung der Ukraine mit westlichen Kampfflugzeugen: Der Transfer von F-16-Jets sei bereits im Gange, kündigten die USA, die Niederlande und Dänemark am Dienstag in einer gemeinsamen Erklärung am Rande des Nato-Gipfels in Washington an. Damit könnten die Maschinen noch diesem Sommer zur Abwehr des russischen Angriffskrieges zum Einsatz kommen.
Das Bündnis sichert der von Russland angegriffenen Ukraine zudem zu, dass sie auf ihrem Weg in das Verteidigungsbündnis nicht mehr aufgehalten werden kann. In dem Text für die Abschlusserklärung des Spitzentreffens wird der Pfad zur Mitgliedschaft als «irreversibel» bezeichnet, wie die Deutsche Presse-Agentur nach Abschluss der Verhandlungen über das Dokument erfuhr.
In dem Text wird noch einmal betont, dass eine formelle Einladung zum Beitritt erst ausgesprochen werden kann, wenn alle Alliierten zustimmen und alle Aufnahmebedingungen erfüllt sind. Dazu zählen Reformen im Bereich der Demokratie und Wirtschaft sowie des Sicherheitssektors.
