Nel corso di un intervento a La Torre di Babele, il programma condotto da Corrado Augias su La7, Massimo D'Alema ha offerto una riflessione sul sistema politico italiano della Prima Repubblica e sulle sue dinamiche di finanziamento.Nel video, D’Alema ricorda come il finanziamento ai partiti fosse una pratica diffusa su più fronti, citando sia il sostegno americano alla Democrazia Cristiana sia quello sovietico a PCI. Tuttavia, individua il vero punto di rottura nella trasformazione di quel sistema: non più solo finanziamenti ai partiti, ma una progressiva diffusione della corruzione personale.Secondo l’ex presidente del Consiglio, questo passaggio ha indebolito le reti di solidarietà politica e contribuito in modo decisivo alla crisi dell’intero sistema.
