EU-Gipfel in Brüssel: Neues Sanktionspaket gegen Russland tritt nicht in Kraft
Die EU muss die Verabschiedung ihres 18. Sanktionspakets gegen Russland wegen des Widerstands der Slowakei und Ungarns verschieben. Der slowakische Ministerpräsident Robert Fico machte auf dem Gipfeltreffen in Brüssel klar, dass er seine Zustimmung erst bei Zusicherungen der EU-Kommission geben werde, die die Gasversorgung seines Landes nach 2027 sicherten. Ungarns Ministerpräsident Viktor Orban erklärte am Freitag im staatlichen ungarischen Rundfunk, dass Fico seine Unterstützung habe. "Wir können den Vorschlag der EU, dass wir kein russisches Öl und Gas mehr kaufen sollen, nicht akzeptieren", sagte er.Die EU-Kommission hatte am 10. Juni eine neue Runde von Sanktionen gegen Russland wegen der Ukraine-Invasion vor mehr als drei Jahren vorgeschlagen. Diese richten sich gegen russische Energieeinnahmen, Banken und die Rüstungsindustrie.
