TRIP REPORT | Desperate Escape from Super Thypoon! | Tapei to Vienna | CHINA AIRLINES A350
China Airlines Trip Report flying from Taipei to Vienna onboard one of the China Airlines A350-900 on a very windy autumn night. We were not supposed to take this flight. We were supposed to fly back with Air China via Beijing the next day... but after following the news about Super Typhoon Champi rapidly approaching Taiwan with winds in excess of 320 km/h (200mph), we decided to book this flight last minute and go back to Europe before it hit the island. I will leave you some info about it in the video, but just as basic info: the Super Typhoon Champi was the biggest storm on Earth in 2026.
After some exploration and planespotting at Taipei Taoyuan Airport, we boarded the China Airlines Airbus A350-900 that would take us to Vienna. With a flight time of over 13 hours, this was the longest night flight of my life, although we landed at sunrise in Vienna.
It was a very pleasant flight, especially from the moment we lifted off from the runway and we left all the potential danger of the Super Typhoon behind us.
The catering service consisted of 2 full meals (dinner and breakfast). As we booked the ticket the same day, we got the last window seat available at the end of the plane (literally, the last row), so not all options were available... Still, the food was generally surprisingly good.
Now it's your turn!
Have you ever flown with China Airlines? How was your experience? Have you ever flown on the A350? Have you ever been to Taipei? Maybe in Vienna? What do you think about China Airlines' service?
Lots of things to talk about! Read you all in the comments!
