Pesawat kenegaraan Turki yang membawa Erdogan bahkan sempat berputar di atas Laut Merah ketika mendengar kabar bahwa Perdana Menteri Israel Benjamin Netanyahu mungkin akan hadir dalam pertemuan tersebut.
Erdogan langsung menginstruksikan pilot untuk menunda pendaratan ketika ada kabar bahwa Netanyahu bakal menghadiri KTT Perdamaian Gaza.
Instruksi itu disampaikan Erdogan tepat sebelum pesawat mendarat.
Pesawat kepresidenan Turki kemudian berputar beberapa kali di atas Laut Merah sampai ada konfirmasi bahwa Netanyahu tidak hadir.
Kabar itu disampaikan oleh Kepala Biro Ankara, Fatih Atik dilansir dari Middle East Eye pada Selasa (14/10).
“Pesawat kepresidenan tetap berada di atas Laut Merah sampai ada konfirmasi bahwa Netanyahu tidak akan hadir,” lapor Atik.
Setelah situasi dipastikan, Erdogan kemudian mendarat dengan selamat di Bandara Internasional Sharm el-Sheikh, Mesir.
Sementara itu pejabat senior Turki mengatakan Ankara sebelumnya telah memberi tahu langsung pihak Washington agar Netanyahu tidak hadir dalam pertemuan KTT Perdamaian Gaza. (Tribun-Video.com)
