The NATO bloc is carrying out a military exercise in the Mediterranean. The US, Turkey, and Italy also joined the third series of “Neptune Strike” exercise, aimed at demonstrating that allied nations can guard the southern flank of Europe. The drills involved 14 surface and subsurface vessels. Meanwhile, Swedish and Polish forces held military drills simulating the defence of Gotland amid rising tensions between NATO and Russia.
