I've always wanted a stadium choir on one of my tracks. 🎶 Not a pad, not a
sample — an actual wall of human voices, the kind that makes the hairs on your
arms stand up. The problem is obvious: that means booking a choir.
So today I built one from a single take of me going "la la la" into a
microphone. And one thing I want to say up front, because I asked: the singers
whose voices are in this thing were paid for their work. 🎤
What got me is how musical it is. You feed it one melody, it finds the key, and
then you're choosing sopranos, altos, tenors and basses, setting how much the
voices drift in pitch and timing against each other — which is exactly what makes
a real choir sound like a real choir. Then you place them in a room. Close and
intimate, or right at the back of a cathedral. 🏟️
By the end I had four separate choirs stacked on top of each other and a track
I genuinely didn't think I'd be able to make on my own. 🔥
