CARACAS IN TRÜMMERN: "Logistische Sachen haben die dort nicht!" Zwei Erdbeben verwüsten das Land!

Nach zwei schweren Erdbeben der Stärke 7,2 und 7,5 hat Venezuela den nationalen Notstand ausgerufen. Die Beben erschütterten den Norden und das Zentrum des Landes innerhalb kurzer Zeit und verursachten schwere Schäden. In Caracas stürzten Gebäude ein, Rettungskräfte suchten nach Verschütteten. Erste Berichte sprechen von mindestens 35 Toten und hunderten Verletzten, die Zahlen könnten jedoch weiter steigen. Experten warnen, dass Venezuela wegen der angespannten Lage des Gesundheitssystems und fehlender Rettungsstrukturen große Probleme bei der Bewältigung der Katastrophe haben könnte. Internationale Hilfe, unter anderem aus den USA, wurde angekündigt.
