Jason is joined this week by Jamie Pendergast to discuss the current job market, learning to program, and optimizing compilers.

Jamie is a 23 year old hobbyist C++ developer who enjoys building fun, niche, and creative projects - and they have recently taken an interest in compiler theory and development for the sake of fun in learning something new and challenging. Despite having a diverse set of skills in plenty of areas, such as backend development, video game development, and web development, they have been unable to land a job in any technical field.
