Gleich zwei schwere Erdbeben binnen einer Minute haben Venezuela erschüttert. Die Erdstöße der Stärke 7,2 und 7,5 brachten Häuser zum Einstürzen und lösten Panik aus. Mindestens 32 Menschen sind nach Angaben der Regierung ums Leben gekommen, mehr als 700 wurden verletzt. Es werden noch weitaus mehr Opfer befürchtet. Besonders stark getroffen ist der Nordwesten des Landes und die Hauptstadt Caracas.
