有些對話結束以後，你會覺得很累。你原本只是想問：「這件事情是不是你做的？」對方卻回答：「你怎麼可以不相信我？」
於是，你開始解釋自己沒有惡意，努力安撫他的情緒。談到最後，不只沒有得到答案，甚至還要為自己提出問題這件事道歉。
很多時候，我們不是不會溝通，而是太容易被帶走。
被對方的情緒帶走，被他說的故事帶走，也被他對我們的定義帶走。原本討論的是一件具體的事情，最後卻變成你必須證明自己是不是一個善良、有愛、負責任的人。
情緒當然重要。它可以讓我們看見一個人的恐懼、自尊與需要，但情緒是一個訊號，不必成為這場對話的方向盤。
他感到失望，不代表你一定做錯了；他覺得受傷，不等於一定是你傷害了他；他說你自私，也不代表那就是事實。
真正的清晰，不是忽略情緒，也不是冷酷地拆穿對方，而是在理解一個人的同時，仍然保留自己的判斷。
當一場對話愈來愈混亂，你可以先問自己三個問題：
我們原本在談什麼？
現在有哪些是事實，哪些是感受，哪些只是解釋？
這件事情真正屬於我的責任是什麼？
我們需要聽懂一個人的故事，卻不必走進他的故事裡，接下他為我們安排好的角色。
清晰，是一次又一次把問題帶回來，也把自己帶回來。
