Perbedaan kecepatan yang signifikan ini sering kali menjadi faktor pemicu utama kecelakaan di jalan tol.
Truk yang melaju lambat seharusnya berada di lajur kiri, sementara lajur kanan diperuntukkan bagi kendaraan yang melaju lebih cepat. Namun, praktik di lapangan menunjukkan kondisi sebaliknya.
Ketua Sub Komite Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan (LLAJ) KNKT Ahmad Wildan mengatakan perlunya penerapan konsep 3E sebagai langkah penanganan.
"Kita harus melakukan yang namanya 3E. Pertama engineering, kita harus membuat papan-papan peringatan bahwa truk harus ada di lajur kiri, itu namanya engineering. Kemudian kita harus melakukan yang kedua education. Ketiga enforcement, penegakan hukum. Kalau dia ke kanan, tilang," tutur Wildan dalam Safety Driving Talkshow - #SahabatSelamat yang digelar Astra Infra di Rest Area Km 68 A, Serang, Banten, Sabtu (27/9/2025).
