Pakistan Warns Taliban of Deep Strikes as Turkey Peace Talks Collapse | Spotlight | N18GPakistan issued a sharp warning to Afghanistan's Taliban authorities after peace talks in Turkiye failed, escalating regional tensions. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan could strike “deep into Afghanistan” if militants launched attacks from Afghan soil. "Pakistan does not require employing even a fraction of its full arsenal to completely obliterate the Taliban regime and push them back to the caves for hiding," Asif said. Kabul hit back at Islamabad, saying it could not control Pakistan’s own citizens and warned of “reciprocal action” if struck. Border clashes earlier in the month left casualties on both sides. India backed Afghanistan’s sovereignty, accusing Pakistan of promoting cross-border terrorism, while Iran called for restraint and dialogue. With UN concerns rising and mediation stalled, peace remained uncertain along the volatile frontier.
