(LaPresse) «Sono passati ormai quattro anni dall'inizio della guerra contro l'Ucraina. Il mio cuore va ancora la drammatica situazione che sta sotto gli occhi di tutti. Quante vittime, quante vite e famiglie spezzate, quanta distruzione, quante sofferenze indicibili. Davvero ogni guerra è una ferita inferta all'intera famiglia umana. Lascia dietro di sé morte devastazione e una scia di dolore che segna generazioni. La pace non può essere rimandata è un'esigenza urgente che deve trovare spazio nei cuori e tradursi in decisioni responsabili». Lo ha detto Papa Leone XIV a margine dell'Angelus in Piazza San Pietro. «Per questo - ha aggiunto il Pontefice - rinnovo con forza il mio appello: tacciano le armi, cessino i bombardamenti, si giunga senza indugio a un cessate il fuoco e si rafforzi il dialogo per aprire la strada alla pace. Invito tutti a unirsi nella preghiera per il martoriato popolo ucraino e per tutti coloro che soffrono a causa di questa guerra e di ogni conflitto del mondo, perché possa risplendere sui nostri giorni il dono tanto atteso della pace».
