Ketika bendera hendak dikibarkan oleh Paskibra pada Minggu (17/8), bendera tersebut terbalik.
Saat proses pemasangan pengait, bendera yang seharusnya merah putih justru terbentang dengan warna putih merah.
Meski sempat terbalik namun pasukan pengibar bendera sigap memperbaiki posisi bendera sebelum dikibarkan.
Petugas Paskibra tidak panik dan tetap tenang saat membalikkan bendera ke posisi yang benar.
Setelah pengait diperbaiki, bendera tersebut dibentangkan dengan benar.
Bendera merah putih itu kemudian berkibar dengan gagah di Balai Kota Surabaya.
Meski sempat mengalami insiden kecil, upacara HUT ke-80 RI di Balai Kota Surabaya tetap berlangsung khidmat.
Hingga berita ini ditulis belum ada respons dari pejabat maupun pihak terkait mengenai insiden bendera terbalik di Balai Kota Surabaya itu.
