Taiwan Responds To China’s Wargames, Port Blockade Preparations | Spotlight | N18G
China, on December 29, launched a fresh round of large-scale military drills around Taiwan, simulating a blockade of the self-ruled island’s key ports. Beijing said the exercises involve live-fire training and units from its army, navy, air force, and rocket force, testing its ability to control the surrounding sea and airspace. Taiwan condemned the drills as military intimidation, warning they undermine regional stability, after reporting dozens of Chinese aircraft and vessels near the island. The drills, code-named “Justice Mission 2025,” include simulated operations targeting major ports vital to Taiwan’s trade and energy supplies.
