Presiden Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro telah mulai diadili di Amerika Serikat.AS menuduh Maduro, yang didakwa dengan perdagangan narkoba dan pelanggaran senjata, menjalankan rezim "narko-teroris"—klaim yang telah Maduro bantah.
Menteri Luar Negeri AS, Marco Rubio, menegaskan bahwa AS tidak sedang berperang dengan Venezuela, meskipun Maduro dan istrinya telah ditangkap dan dibawa ke AS.
