Lo fa però dopo aver detto, ancora una volta, che "la Russia non può vincere". Ne è convinta Kaja Kallas in plenaria a Strasburgo, in Parlamento europeo. L'alto rappresentante dell'Unione per gli affari esteri ribadisce che "la sicurezza dell'Ucraina è sicurezza europea, e finché la Russia porterà avanti la sua guerra illegale, noi dobbiamo continuare a combattere". Toni in controtendenza rispetto ai recenti summit con gli USA di Donald Trump, dove il focus sembrava essersi ormai spostato sulle trattative dirette tra Zelensky e Putin.
D'altronde, la storia della Kallas con la Russia è personalmente complicata. Solo pochi giorni fa, l'alto rappresentante UE diceva che il fatto storico secondo cui Russia e Cina abbiano contribuito a sconfiggere il nazismo in Europa durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, è una "narrazione" a cui credono "le persone" che "non leggono molto e non ricordano la storia".
La "pace giusta" è l'obiettivo che torna centrale in plenaria a Strasburgo, dopo una lunga pausa estiva. Ma il concetto di pace giusta "non è mai esistito nella storia dell'umanità", risponde Roberto Vannacci nel corso del suo intervento.
