È stato individuato il presunto responsabile dell'imbrattamento dei leoni di San Zeno, avvenuto alla vigilia di Natale. Si tratta di un ventiseienne nato a Brescia ma cresciuto e residente a Verona, già autore in passato di diversi imbrattamenti.Sarebbero una trentina, secondo la Digos scaligera, gli imbrattamenti commessi tra il 23 e il 26 dicembre in diverse zone del centro. Oltre alle sculture della Basilica, avrebbe deturpato con vernice blu e verde altri la stella di Natale in Piazza Bra, le mura del ponte di Castelvecchio, la statua di Santa Maddalena di Canossa nei giardini di Piazza Pozza, la statua di Aleardo Aleardi in piazzetta Santissimi Apostoli.
