KOMPAS.TV - Pesta rakyat makan gratis sebagai rangkaian pernikahan Wakil Bupati Garut yang menikah dengan anak sulung Gubernur Jawa Barat, Dedi Mulyadi, berujung petaka. Tiga orang dinyatakan tewas.Kericuhan tak terhindarkan karena ribuan warga telah menunggu lama dan berdesakan untuk masuk ke halaman pendopo, untuk mendapatkan makanan gratis.
Akibat kericuhan ini, puluhan warga mulai dari anak-anak hingga lansia jatuh pingsan.
Bahkan tiga orang lainnya dinyatakan meninggal dunia. Dua di antaranya warga sipil, yakni seorang ibu dan anak perempuan berusia 8 tahun, juga satu anggota polisi yang sedang melakukan pengamanan.
