Durante mais de 10 anos, o grande sucesso da Nissan no Brasil foi o seu SUV Kicks. E aí ela projetou uma nova geração do modelo, aproveitando o sucesso do nome e o chamando de o novo Kicks. Mas continuou produzindo o primeiro, que ela não podia chamar de o velho Kicks, e o batizou então de Kicks Play.Aí ela inteligentemente fez um profundo facelift no velho Kicks, mantendo toda a motorização e mudando alguns componentes da carroceria para parecer um outro automóvel. E pareceu mesmo, já que ela acaba de lançar como Nissan Kaite, onde ela não cometeu o mesmo erro do novo Kicks, que chegou por R$ 200 mil, apesar do motor 1.0.
No novo Kaite, ela foi com menos sede ao pote, que chegou a partir de R$ 117 mil, mais ou menos o mesmo preço do Kicks Play.
