Nel primo giorno della legislatura europea, Ilaria Salis parla con Fanpage.it della sua nuova esperienza da europarlamentare nella fila di Sinistra Italiana/The Left, dopo 15 mesi di detenzione nelle prigioni ungheresi, per quello che definisce "un processo politico, a mio carico e a quello di altri antifascisti". Nell'intervista, Salis racconta quello che vuol realizzare e le istanze che vuol portare in Europa, a partire dal tema delle condizioni di vita nelle carceri. Con Fanpage, la neodeputata affronta anche il tema della possibile richiesta di revoca dell'immunità parlamentare da parte dell'Ungheria e le polemiche politiche seguite alla notizie di stampa circa una sua passata esperienza, all'interno di un'occupazione abitativa illegale.
