Peristiwa bermula saat pelaku mengecek saldo gaji ke-13 di ATM milik korban yang hanya tersisa Rp 800.000.
Kabid Humas Polda Jatim Kombes Pol Dirmanto menjelaskan, korban yakni Briptu RDW (28) kerap bermain judi online.
Padahal, kebutuhan rumah tangga semakin meningkat setelah istrinya, Briptu (FN) melahirkan anak kembar empat bulan lalu.
"Saudara almarhum korban sering menghabiskan uang belanja yang harusnya dipakai untuk membiayai hidup ketiga anaknya," kata Dirmanto, dikutip dari Surya.co.id, Senin (10/6/2024).
Briptu FN semakin marah ketika mengetahui gaji ke-13 di ATM suaminya tersisa Rp 800.000 pada Sabtu (8/6/2024) pagi.
Ia pun meminta suaminya pulang ke rumah di Kompleks Asrama Polres Mojokerto.
Namun sebelum itu, Briptu FN telah menyiapkan sebotol bensin.
Pertengkaran hebat pun terjadi hingga akhirnya Briptu RDW dibakar.
Pelaku sempat membawa korban ke rumah sakit sambil menyesali perbuatannya.
Namun, Briptu RDW akhirnya meninggal pada Minggu (9/6/2024) siang karena mengalami luka bakar 96 persen.
Kini jenazah korban sudah dimakamkan di kampung halamannya di Jombang, Jawa Timur.
Sementara Briptu FN telah ditetapkan sebagai tersangka kasus KDRT.
