Alarm gab es unter anderem in Kuwait, Bahrain, Katar, Irak und Jordanien. Gleichzeitig werfen sich Washington und Teheran gegenseitig Desinformation vor – etwa nach Berichten über brennende Öltanker in der Straße von Hormus. Die Lage im Nahen Osten bleibt hochgefährlich und birgt das Risiko einer weiteren regionalen Ausweitung des Konflikts.

Warum ist die Straße von Hormus so wichtig? Über die Meerenge wird ein erheblicher Teil des weltweiten Ölhandels abgewickelt.
Welche Staaten sind betroffen? Neben den USA und dem Iran geraten auch Kuwait, Bahrain, Katar, Irak und Jordanien zunehmend in den Konflikt.
Warum widersprechen sich beide Seiten? Beide Regierungen verbreiten unterschiedliche Darstellungen des Kriegsgeschehens; viele Angaben lassen sich zunächst nicht unabhängig überprüfen.
