Hakim Ad Hoc Israel Mundur, Kirim Surat ke Netanyahu Stop Bela Israel di ICJ Lawan Gugatan Afsel

Diketahui Aharon diutus Israel untuk melawan gugatan Afrika Selatan ke ICJ atas dugaan genosida di Gaza.
Yedioth Ahronot mengungkap alasan Aharon mengundurkan diri karena alasan pribadi.
“Saya mengumumkan pengunduran diri saya karena alasan pribadi dan keluarga. Terima kasih telah mempercayaiku," kata Aharon.
Aharon Barak telah mengirim surat pengunduran dirinya kepada PM Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.
Dia juga mengucapkan terima kasihnya kepada Netanyahu atas kepercayaan yang diberikan.
Surat kabar itu menyebut Israel belum mencari pengganti Aharon Barak untuk membela Israel di ICJ.
“Sekarang negara harus memutuskan apakah akan memilih hakim lain selain Aharon Barak," kata Yedioth Ahronoth.
Sementara sebuah sumber hukum Israel yang tidak disebutkan namanya mengatakan bahwa pemerintah Israel akan membahasnya minggu ini.
Sumber tersebut mengatakan ada tiga kandidat potensial untuk menggantikan Aharon.
Kandidat potensial tersebut yakni 2 mantan presiden Mahkamah Agung Israel, Dorit Benish dan Esther Hayut atau mantan wakil presiden Mahkamah Agung Israel, Elyakim Rubinstein.
Terpisah, Presiden Israel, Isaac Herzog, mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Barak atas pengabdiannya.
Herzog mengatakan, "Kontribusi dan pengaruh Barak terhadap dunia hukum di Israel dan di dunia, sangat penting dalam kampanye hukum melawan negara yang melawan Israel.
